TEDDY BENNETT (1930-2005)
Many Tour de Corn cyclists will remember Teddy Bennett’s warm hospitality, his hearty laugh, his jokes, and his firm handshake as he welcomed them to our town and the tour.
Whether serving on the planning committee, serving crawdads at the Main Street Party, serving as the 2004 Tour Grand Marshall or serving food at our rest stops, Teddy loved people, his community and Tour de Corn.
He will always be remembered fondly – and will be sadly missed by all who had the opportunity to know him.
We express our sympathy to his wife and family, and
thank them for sharing Teddy with all of us.
G.W. ALLEN (1933-2005) DAVE HODGE, JR. (1939-2005)
2005 was a
year of sadness and loss for those of us involved with Tour de Corn.
G.W. died after a long battle with cancer, and Dave died unexpectedly and suddenly from a massive heart attack. Both were Tour de Corn SAG drivers and strong supporters of this community and the ride.
It is with sadness that we add their names and pictures to this memorial site, and we extend our love and sympathy to their wives and families.
